Patna: A 400-bed specialty hospital for bone and spine diseases is set to be completed by August this year within the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital complex in Rajvanshi Nagar, Patna. The hospital, being built at an estimated cost of Rs 2.20 billion, aims to provide advanced orthopaedic care under one roof.
The decision to establish the hospital was taken three years ago, following a surge in the number of patients suffering from bone and spine disorders. According to the Health Department, the new facility will be the first dedicated orthopaedic hospital in Bihar and the second-largest in the country.
The hospital will feature state-of-the-art medical equipment and diagnostic services, including ultrasound, CT scan, MRI, and digital X-ray facilities. It will also house six modular operation theatres, a 30-bed trauma centre for emergency cases, and a specialised sports injury centre. The ground plus six-floor structure will be equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance treatment and surgical procedures.
Recently, Bihar’s Health Minister inspected the construction site and instructed officials to expedite the work to ensure the hospital is operational by August. Once completed, the facility is expected to significantly improve orthopaedic and trauma care in the state.
