Patna: Patna traffic police have issued comprehensive instructions to manage the anticipated surge in visitors to parks, temples, and popular destinations during New Year celebrations. Special arrangements have been made to prevent traffic congestion at key locations, with additional parking zones and traffic diversions in place starting Wednesday.
Key Areas of Focus
The plan covers high-footfall spots such as Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, Eco Park, Kumhrar Park, Rajvanshi Nagar Hanuman Temple, Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple (Boring Canal Road), Mahavir Temple, Buddha Smriti Park, and Children’s Park.
Restrictions and Diversions:
- Vehicle movement from Circular Road toward Eco Park will be restricted, except for government and employee vehicles.
- No vehicles will be allowed to access Eco Park from Karpuri Golambar.
- Parking near Mahavir Temple at Patna Junction and the junction itself will be prohibited. Devotees will need to park their vehicles on Harding Road.
Designated Parking Zones
To accommodate visitors, the following parking zones have been designated:
- Eco Park: Parking will not be allowed on Bailey Road near Bihar Museum. Vehicles can park on the opposite side in a single lane.
- City Center Mall: Visitors should park at Gandhi Maidan.
- Tara Mandal and ISKCON Temple: Parking is available on the Miller School grounds or the service lane of Veerchand Patel Path.
- Buddha Smriti Park: Parking will be permitted along the east side of the park’s boundary wall.
- Rajdhani Vatika: Vehicles can park in designated lanes on Atal Path.
- Patna Zoo: Parking is arranged at the Veterinary College.
- Kumhrar Park: Parking is available on both sides of the unpaved flanks near the park.
Traffic Flow and Diversions
- If Bailey Road experiences heavy traffic, vehicles will be diverted from Dumra Chowki toward the airport.
- Vehicles approaching from Gandhi Maidan will need to take a U-turn near the IPS Mess.
- Traffic toward Eco Park will be restricted from both Circular Road and Karpuri Golambar.
- Parking near Zoo Gate No. 1 and Rajvanshi Nagar Hanuman Temple is strictly prohibited.
- Parking along the main road near Kumhrar Park will not be allowed.
