Patna: The Alumni Association of Patna Women’s College held its General Body Meeting this week, drawing around 100 alumni from various batches who returned to the campus to review the year’s achievements and plan ahead.

Dr Ameeta Jaiswal, President of the Alumni Association, welcomed participants and opened the session with a detailed outline of the 2025 milestones and the association’s priorities for 2026.

Presentations, Vision Statement and Plans for Alumni Meet 2025

The meeting began with a presentation by Ms Sushmita Chakraborty, Co-ordinator, PGDCA, followed by an address from Dr Jaiswal, who expanded on the association’s vision and mission. She also encouraged members to take an active role in the Alumni Meet scheduled for 21 December 2025.

A special segment celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the Class of 1975, featuring a presentation of photographs and memories that highlighted the deep bonds shared by the batch.

Among the distinguished alumni present was Dr Asha Singh, Former Principal of Magadh Mahila College, who reflected on her student years with nostalgia and pride. She praised the institution’s evolution and the growing contributions of its alumni.

Dr Maya Shankar, Former Head of the Department of History and Retired Professor, Patna University, proposed several recommendations for the upcoming alumni meet. These included accommodation for outstation alumni, streamlined dinner arrangements, and efforts to encourage life memberships, especially among in-house alumni.

Alumna Styla Pd from the Political Science batch of 1980–82 also shared her experiences, reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie that marked the gathering.
