
Patna: The Department of History at Patna Women’s College, Patna University, organised a guest lecture on Monday for students of undergraduate semesters 3 and 5 and postgraduate semester 1. The sessions were conducted by Abhimanyu Kumar, Assistant Professor at the School of Liberal Arts, GGS Indraprastha University, New Delhi.
The first session, titled Uncovering the Past, Empowering the Future: Archaeology and Its Career Opportunities, began at 11 am with the felicitation of the speaker by Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Head of the Department of History, with a plant sapling. Abhimanyu spoke about the significance of archaeology and its potential as a career path, followed by an engaging question and answer round where students clarified their doubts.
The second session, Unlocking Research’s Mind: Meaning and Methods, started at 12.30 pm and was attended by students of undergraduate semester 5 and postgraduate semester 1. Abhimanyu focused on the importance of research studies in higher education. The session was interactive and included activities that kept students involved throughout. It concluded with his felicitation by Priyanka, Assistant Professor, Department of History.
The first session was moderated by Tanvir, with the vote of thanks proposed by Sweksha, both students of undergraduate semester 3. The second session was moderated by Mariyum Fatima, a postgraduate semester 1 student, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Prerna, student of undergraduate semester 5.
Sister Celine Crasta A.C. played a key role in the successful organisation of the event, which was attended by the entire faculty of the Department of History.
