Patna Women’s College Hosts Alumni-Authored Book Launch on Stress Management
Patna: The Department of Psychology at Patna Women’s College (PWC) hosted a book launch as part of their Alumni Connect initiative on Saturday. The event, held in collaboration with the college’s mental well-being club, focused on the topic “Introduction to Stress, Stress Management, and Coping Mechanisms.”
The session began at noon in Carmel Hall with a welcome address and a prayer. Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of PWC, delivered the opening remarks, followed by an encouraging speech from Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal, President of the Alumni Association.
The book, authored by Dr. Vinita Kochgaway, an alumna from the 1966-70 batch, was officially launched by Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Dr. Sister M. Jincy A.C. (Superior Avila Convent), Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal, Dr. Amrita Choudhary (IQAC coordinator and Head of the Geography Department), Shobha Srivastava (Dean of Science and Head of the Zoology Department), and Dr. Meena Kishore (former Head of the Psychology Department).
Dr. Kochgaway addressed the audience, elaborating on the significance of stress management in everyday life and the concept of positive stress. This was followed by a brief overview of the book provided by Dr. Meena Kishore.
The event was moderated by Mukta Mrinalini, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology. Dr. Medha, also an Assistant Professor in the department, delivered the vote of thanks. The event was attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students, along with those enrolled in the Stress Management course.
