Patna Women’s College Hosts Model Display Competition to Celebrate International Microorganisms Day

Patna: The Department of Microbiology at Patna Women’s College organized a Model Display Competition to mark International Microorganisms Day. The competition focused on the theme “Diversity of Microorganisms,” encouraging students to explore the fascinating world of microorganisms through creative model presentations.
Students enthusiastically participated, showcasing various types of microorganisms in their models. The event was judged by Dr. Sumeet Ranjan from the Department of Zoology and Dr. Preeti Swarupa from the Department of Microbiology, who assessed the models based on creativity, accuracy, and presentation.
Annet Anand secured first place with her model of ‘Actinomycetes,’ followed by Aliya Jawed’s ‘Trichoderma’ in second place and Priyambada’s ‘Lumpy Skin Disease Virus’ in third. The event highlighted the students’ originality and scientific understanding, making it a resounding success.
The competition was supervised by Dr. Jaya Philip, Head of the Department of Microbiology, along with faculty members Dr. Niti Yashwardhini and Dr. Swetnisha.
