Patna: A vibrant two-day exhibition titled “Our Astounding Earth” unfolded at the Department of Geography, Patna Women’s College (PWC) on Wednesday, captivating audiences with insightful displays crafted by the enthusiastic participation of semester- VI students. The first day of the event on Wednesday garnered attention for its innovative portrayal of various facets of the Earth’s geography.
Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A. C., the Principal of PWC, ceremoniously inaugurated the exhibition, underscoring the significance of exploring our planet’s diverse landscapes. The event commenced with a melodious welcome song, setting the tone for an engaging exploration of geographical marvels.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Amrita Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Geography, extended a warm welcome to the Principal and distinguished professors, acknowledging their presence and support for the students’ endeavors. The atmosphere was further enriched by a captivating recitation of a self-composed poem by Swati, a talented student of the department.
Throughout the exhibition, students showcased intricate models illustrating various geographical phenomena, including plate tectonics, the formation of the Himalayas, landforms, volcanoes, and continental drift. These meticulously crafted exhibits provided visitors with a comprehensive understanding of Earth’s dynamic processes and geographical evolution.
Visitors from diverse academic backgrounds, including faculty members and students from different departments, marveled at the exhibits and commended the students for their creativity and attention to detail.
