Patna Women’s College Observes World Social Work Day with Interactive Session

Patna: The Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College in collaboration with the Social Work Club Samarth at the Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Centre (MVEIC), organized an interactive session to mark World Social Work Day. The event focused on the theme Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Well-being and highlighted the crucial role of social workers in promoting well-being and social justice.

Father Jesu Raj SJ, Director of Ashadeep, was the resource person for the session. The event began with Dr. Mridul Mishra, Coordinator of Samarth and Head of the Department of Social Work, presenting a plant sapling to Father Jesu Raj SJ as a token of appreciation. Father Jesu Raj SJ engaged the participants in an interactive discussion, encouraging them to recognize the value of older generations in their lives. Through short stories and thought-provoking discussions, he highlighted how fostering bonds across generations strengthens communities, promotes environmental sustainability, and ensures the transfer of wisdom and traditions.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sister Sanjana A.C., Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work. The program was successfully coordinated by Dr. Mridul Mishra, with the support of faculty members Sister Sanjana A.C. and Sister Bhagyam A.C. The session was skillfully moderated by Preety Singh, President of Samarth and an MSW student (Semester 2), ensuring an engaging and insightful experience for all attendees.
