Patna: Students of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, participated in a cleanliness drive along the bank of the Ganges near Digha on September 19 to mark Season of Creation 2026.
The drive was organised by the ECO Task Force (ETF) in collaboration with the college’s Department of Zoology. It began at 8am and focused on this year’s Season of Creation theme, “Living Water”.
The theme highlights the importance of water as a source of life and the need to protect rivers and other water bodies from pollution.
Students Collect Waste From Riverbank
During the campaign, ECO Task Force members collected plastic bottles, food packets, plastic wrappers and other waste materials from the Ganges riverbank.
The activity was aimed at encouraging students and members of the community to adopt responsible waste disposal practices and contribute to keeping water bodies clean.
The students also highlighted the importance of the Ganges as a lifeline for millions of people, stressing the need for collective efforts to protect the river from pollution.

ECO Task Force Officials Join Campaign
Sister Luveena A.C., Secretary of the ECO Task Force, was present during the cleanliness drive and encouraged students for their participation and commitment to environmental protection.
The programme was organised under the supervision of Dr Sumeet Ranjan, Vice-President of the ECO Task Force and Head of the Department of Zoology.
The campaign concluded with ETF members reaffirming their commitment to protecting water bodies and promoting environmental awareness among students and the wider community.
