Patna Zoo Entry Fee, Boating and Other Charges Likely to Increase

Patna: Visiting Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park in Patna could soon become more expensive, with the administration proposing to double the entry fee and charges for various facilities. Sources claimed that the proposal has been sent to the fee-fixing committee of the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and is expected to be approved soon, making the increased rates applicable from the new financial year. On average, the park receives around 5,000 visitors daily.

Hike in Pass Charges
Approximately 9,000 people visit the park using passes, which are also set to become costlier. The three-month pass fee is expected to rise from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500, the six-month pass from Rs 1,600 to Rs 2,400, and the annual pass from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,750.

Senior Citizens to Pay More
The fee hike will also affect senior citizens, who currently receive a 50% concession on general rates. The three-month pass, currently priced at Rs 500, is proposed to increase to Rs 750. The six-month pass is proposed to rise from Rs 800 to Rs 1,200, and the annual pass from Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,800.

Revised Entry and Facility Charges
If the proposal is approved, the entry fee for general visitors may double, with adults paying Rs 60 instead of Rs 30 and children paying Rs 20 instead of Rs 10. Boating charges will increase from Rs 80 to Rs 120, while another category of boating tickets will rise from Rs 120 to Rs 150.

The aquarium ticket price for adults will double from Rs 10 to Rs 20, and for children from Rs 5 to Rs 10. In the children’s park, the entry fee for children will increase from Rs 5 to Rs 10 and from Rs 10 to Rs 20 for another category.

The proposal also includes a fee hike for several other parks in the city.
