Patna: Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, popularly known as Patna zoo, is set to enchant visitors with a new toy train attraction, targeted for launch by December 2025. The zoo administration, in collaboration with the Danapur Railway Division, has commenced efforts to expedite the project, promising a unique and engaging experience for park-goers.
The zoo administration will release a payment of Rs 9 crore 88 lakh to the Danapur Railway Division in the first week of March, paving the way for the project’s advancement. Following this, the track department of the Danapur Railway Division will issue a tender in April to select an agency for the construction work.
Plans reveal an ambitious design for the toy train route. A key feature will be the construction of a tunnel within the zoo, through which the train will pass, adding an element of adventure to the ride. Additionally, sections of the track will be enclosed in glass, offering unobstructed and captivating views of the surrounding flora and fauna.
The meticulously planned route will feature numerous points of interest, ensuring a delightful journey for passengers. To facilitate passenger movement, two stations and a halt will be constructed within the zoo premises.
The toy train itself will comprise an engine and four bogies, with each bogie accommodating 20 passengers. This ensures comfortable seating for a significant number of visitors, making the attraction accessible to families and groups.
The collaborative effort between the zoo administration and the Danapur Railway Division underscores the commitment to delivering a high-quality and memorable experience for visitors. The project is expected to enhance the zoo’s appeal and provide a fun and educational activity for people of all ages.
