Patna’s Planetarium to Launch Immersive Virtual Reality 3D Theatre
Patna: The city’s planetarium is set to undergo a significant technological upgrade with the construction of a cutting-edge Virtual Reality (VR) 3D theatre. The project, estimated at Rs 5.59 crore, aims to offer an immersive experience where viewers can explore imaginary worlds with a heightened sense of reality.
The new facility will feature advanced VR technology that transports audiences into virtual environments, creating the sensation of being part of scenes and scenarios far removed from their physical location. Specially designed chairs, accommodating 25 spectators at a time, will enhance the immersive experience, allowing viewers to engage with diverse shows that explore other worlds, planets, galaxies, and historical artifacts, offering a deeper understanding of the universe.
Audiences will be equipped with headgear to access the VR shows, which are being crafted with meticulous attention to detail to ensure a seamless transition into virtual worlds. This addition is expected to transform the planetarium into a hub of educational entertainment, with a variety of shows available throughout the day.
This development follows the recent introduction of two new shows, ‘Voyager’ and ‘Tree of Life,’ at the planetarium. Presented in both Hindi and English, these shows have replaced the previously running ‘We Are Stars’ and ‘Asteroid Mission Extreme,’ marking a new chapter in the planetarium’s offerings. The upcoming VR 3D theatre is set to further elevate the educational and entertainment experiences available to visitors in Patna.
