Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar in the last week of May, with a major public meeting scheduled in Bikramganj, Rohtas district — his first visit to the state since the Indian Army’s cross-border strikes under Operation Sindoor. The announcement was made by state BJP president Dr Dilip Jaiswal on Sunday, who confirmed the venue while noting that the exact date of the Prime Minister’s arrival will be declared within the next few days.

The BJP expects a massive turnout, with lakhs anticipated to gather not only from Rohtas but also from neighbouring districts including Aurangabad, Bhojpur, and Buxar. The public meeting is expected to serve both as a show of strength and a message of continuity following recent national security developments.

This will be PM Modi’s second visit to Bihar in just over a month. On April 24, he had addressed a rally in Madhubani on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day. During that speech, made just a day after the Pahalgam terror attack, the Prime Minister had declared that terrorists would be taught a lesson “beyond imagination” from the soil of Bihar — a statement widely interpreted as a signal of imminent military retaliation.

Subsequently, on the night of May 7, the Indian Army carried out precision strikes, destroying nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, killing at least 40 militants in what was seen as the initiation of Operation Sindoor.

The forthcoming visit is expected to highlight national security, development initiatives, and the Centre’s strong stance on cross-border terrorism — key issues as the BJP gears up for the upcoming state assembly elections.
