Gaya: Prashant Kishor revealed that he used to charge more than 100 crore rupees for providing electoral advice to various parties and leaders. This statement was made during the campaign for his candidate in the Belaganj assembly constituency on October 31. Kishor emphasised his influence, stating, “My government is running in ten states. People often ask where I get money for my campaign. The governments formed by me are ruling in 10 states of the country today. So will we not get money to set up tents for our campaign? Do you people think I’m so weak?”
Kishor’s remarks come ahead of the by-elections set to take place on November 13 for four assembly seats in Bihar, where his newly formed Jan Suraaj Party is contesting for the first time. The party has nominated candidates including Mohammad Amjad from Belaganj, Jitendra Paswan from Imamganj, Sushil Kumar Singh Kushwaha from Ramgarh, and Kiran Singh from Tarari. The results of these by-elections will be announced on November 23.
The Jan Suraaj Party was officially launched by Kishor on October 2, 2024, after he undertook a two-year campaign on foot across Bihar. Manoj Bharti, from the Scheduled Caste community, has been appointed as the party’s first acting president. Kishor’s emergence as a political force follows his previous close association with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, for whom he campaigned and even served as the national vice president of Kumar’s party in 2018.
