Patna: District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajeev Mishra have announced elaborate plans for the 75th Republic Day celebrations in Patna, with meticulous preparations underway. The officials conducted an inspection of Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Monday, accompanied by senior officers, to ensure that all arrangements are proceeding at a rapid pace.
DM Singh emphasized the significance of the Republic Day celebration as a fixed-time and fixed-venue event, stressing the need for coordinated teamwork. He urged all departmental officials to remain vigilant and ensure strong and error-free preparation for the various programs scheduled for the occasion.
The entire Gandhi Maidan has been strategically divided into four zones from an administrative standpoint, with Additional District Magistrates leading the efforts in each zone. A 24×7 multi-member sub-committee, led by the Deputy Development Commissioner, is actively supervising the preparations. Committee members, representing various departments, are regularly inspecting Gandhi Maidan and addressing ground preparation and other critical points.
To ensure a visually appealing and safe celebration, several tasks are underway, including barricading led by the Executive Engineer of the Building Construction Department, seating arrangements overseen by Nazarat Deputy Collector and Additional District Magistrate Law and Order, and electricity arrangements managed by the Executive Engineer Electrical Works Division.
DM Singh and SSP Mishra highlighted that crowd management, law and order maintenance, and traffic management are top priorities for the administration on Republic Day. They called upon all officials to remain alert, prepared, and committed for the grand occasion.
During the inspection, DM Singh and SSP Mishra were accompanied by key officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Tanay Sultania, SP Traffic Puran Kumar Jha, City SP Central Vaibhav Sharma, SDO Patna Sadar Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar, Additional District Magistrate Supply Brajesh Kumar, Special Officer Division Manoranjan Kumar, Additional District Magistrate Law and Order Hemant Kumar, and Additional Municipal Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation Sheela Irani.
