Katihar: In view of rising passenger demand, the Northeast Frontier Railway has announced the operation of five one-way special trains to improve connectivity across key routes in the northeastern region and beyond.
According to railway officials, the special services will connect major destinations including Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, offering relief to passengers during the peak travel period. Details of the trains, their schedules and stoppages have been released to facilitate advance planning.
Train number 05483, an Alipurduar Junction–Delhi one-way special, will depart from Alipurduar Junction at 10.30 am on December 13, 2025, and is scheduled to arrive in Delhi at 9.45 pm on Sunday. The train will halt at Hasimara, Dalgaon, Binnaguri, New Mal Junction, Siliguri Junction, Bagdogra, Aluabari Road, Kishanganj, Barsoi, Katihar, New Barauni Junction, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Prayagraj Junction, Kanpur Central, Etawah Junction, Aligarh Junction, Ghaziabad, among other stations.
Another service, train number 05936, a Dibrugarh–Kolkata one-way special, will leave Dibrugarh at 5.20 pm on December 13, 2025, and reach Kolkata at 12.30 am on Monday. Its stoppages include Dhemaji, North Lakhimpur, Harmati Junction, Rangapara North, Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, Aluabari Road, Kishanganj, Barsoi and Malda Town.
Train number 05653, operating as an Agartala–Kolkata one-way special, will depart Agartala at 7.35 am on December 15, 2025, and arrive at Kolkata Terminal at 4.40 pm the following day. The train will stop at New Karimganj, Badarpur Junction, Guwahati, Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, New Alipurduar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj and other stations en route.
Similarly, train number 05650, a Silchar–Kolkata one-way special, is scheduled to depart Silchar at 5.00 am on December 18, 2025, and arrive in Kolkata at 12.05 pm the next day. Its stoppages include Badarpur, Lumding, Guwahati, Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Cooch Behar, Dhupguri, New Jalpaiguri, Aluabari Road, Kishanganj, Barsoi, Kumedpur and Malda Town.
In addition, train number 05958, a New Tinsukia–Chennai Central one-way special, will depart New Tinsukia at 6.45 pm on December 18, 2025, and reach Chennai Central at 4.30 am on Sunday. The train will halt at Dibrugarh, Dhemaji, North Lakhimpur, Harmati, Rangapara North, Rangiya Junction, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, Aluabari Road, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Barddhaman, Kharagpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Vizianagaram Junction, Vijayawada Junction and Gudur Junction.
Railway officials said passengers can check detailed timings, stoppages and booking status on the IRCTC website. Travellers have been advised to confirm train schedules before commencing their journey.
