Patna: The capital and several eastern districts of Bihar are expected to experience partly cloudy skies with sporadic rainfall and thunderstorms on Saturday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). A yellow alert has been issued for multiple districts warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.
The IMD has specifically warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds blowing at speeds of 30–40 km/h in Supaul, Madhepura, Saharsa, Khagaria, Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, and Jamui.
In Bhagalpur and Katihar districts, isolated heavy rainfall is expected, prompting a yellow alert for localized intense precipitation.
Over the next three days, north-eastern Bihar is likely to see continued rainfall and thunderstorms. The Meteorological Center in Patna attributed the change in weather conditions to moisture-laden eastern winds originating from the Bay of Bengal. However, temperatures are forecast to rise gradually after two to three days.
Highest Rainfall Recorded in Bakhri, Begusarai
Rainfall activity was widespread across the state in the past 24 hours. Bakhri in Begusarai district recorded the highest rainfall at 63.2 mm, followed by:

- Hayaghat (Darbhanga) – 52.8 mm
- Rosda (Samastipur) – 49.2 mm
- Gogri (Khagaria) – 44.0 mm

- Khusrupur (Patna) – 42.2 mm
- Sahkund (Bhagalpur) – 40.4 mm
- Sultanganj – 39.2 mm
- Amarpur (Banka) – 38.6 mm
- Bidupur (Vaishali) – 38.0 mm
- Athmalgola (Patna) – 34.0 mm
- Raniganj (Araria) – 32.0 mm
