Patna: The weather in Bihar underwent a dramatic shift after noon today, with significant rainfall reported in Patna, Nalanda, Muzaffarpur, and Begusarai. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for 19 districts, accompanied by warnings of potential lightning in several areas.
Following the abrupt weather change, cities such as Kishanganj, Madhepura, Raxaul, Bettiah, and Lakhisarai experienced heavy rainfall, offering respite from the oppressive heat and humidity. Many cities also reported cloudy conditions, adding to the overall cooling effect.
In Bhagalpur, a five-year-old water tank was washed away due to erosion caused by the Ganges. Additionally, concerns are rising about potential erosion in Malkha Panchayat of Sabour, further exacerbating local issues.
The Meteorological Center has forecast light rain for 19 districts across the state today. According to the department, easterly winds carrying moisture will persist over the next two days, leading to continued cloudy skies.
