Samrat Choudhary Demands New Expressway from Pashupatinath Dham to Baijnath Dham
Patna: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has written to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, urging the construction of a new expressway connecting Pashupatinath Dham in Nepal to Baijnath Dham in Deoghar, Jharkhand.
In his letter, Samrat emphasized the importance of improving connectivity between these prominent religious sites. He proposed a Greenfield alignment for the expressway that would pass through several locations, including Bhimnagar, Birpur, Pasraha, Aguanighat, Sultanganj-Katoria, and Chanan, enhancing accessibility for pilgrims.
Samrat further suggested the construction of a service road along the expressway, specifically for the convenience of devotees who travel on foot from Sultanganj to Baijnath Dham. Many of these pilgrims take water from the Ganga and walk barefoot, making the service road a necessary addition to the expressway.
The Deputy CM also highlighted the ongoing construction of a bridge over the Ganga at Sultanganj-Aguanighat, through which the new expressway would pass. He mentioned that work on other expressway projects, including the Raxaul to Haldia and Darbhanga to Amas stretches, is already underway.
Samrat believes that this new expressway will boost cultural tourism in Bihar, bringing in more tourists and accelerating the state’s economic growth. He expressed confidence that the project will positively impact Bihar’s economy as well as contribute to the overall development of the country.
