Patna: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary completed 100 days in office on Thursday, highlighting decisions focused on employment, education, agriculture, infrastructure and industrial investment.
The government said its priorities during the initial period included strengthening governance, accelerating development projects and creating opportunities for youth and entrepreneurs.
Officials highlighted initiatives aimed at improving education infrastructure, expanding agricultural support, promoting investment and increasing the role of panchayats in local administration.
Focus On Employment And Education Reforms
The government announced steps to fill vacancies in the Education Department, promote technical education and expand higher education facilities across the state.
Plans were announced to establish new degree colleges in 211 blocks and set up several new universities, including an AI university.
The government also introduced the ‘Saraswati Vidya Niketan Model School’ scheme to promote quality education and announced the implementation of the National Education Policy.
A proposal to establish 551 model schools was also included among the government’s key initiatives.
Agriculture And Rural Economy Measures
The government said it took measures to support farmers, particularly amid concerns over a weak monsoon.
It announced 12 hours of daily electricity supply for agricultural purposes to improve irrigation facilities.
The government also focused on increasing farmers’ income through initiatives related to dairy, fisheries, animal husbandry and other agriculture-based activities.
Plans were also advanced to connect university students with agricultural startups to encourage innovation in the farming sector.
Infrastructure And Investment Push
The government said it accelerated work on roads, bridges and state highways as part of its infrastructure development agenda.
To attract industries and investment, the state announced measures aimed at strengthening the business environment and invited proposals for new projects.
The government has set a target of attracting investments worth Rs 5 lakh crore by 2030.
It also announced plans to develop 12 new townships and introduced initiatives such as heli-tourism to promote the tourism sector.
Strengthening Panchayats And Governance
The government announced that Gram Sabha meetings would be held compulsorily on the last Sunday of every month to improve public participation and monitoring of schemes.
It also announced steps related to the delimitation of panchayats and efforts to strengthen local administration.
The government said new laws would be introduced to improve governance and accountability.
Administrative And Public Service Initiatives
The government launched ‘Sahyog Shivir’ to address public grievances and announced that complaints would be resolved within 30 days. Officials could face action in cases of delays, according to the government.
A monthly ‘Pension Day’ on the 10th of every month was announced to ensure timely pension payments for elderly people, persons with disabilities and widows.
Other administrative measures included a points-based teacher transfer policy, a hospital referral policy for timely treatment and the deployment of ‘Police Didi’ in schools and colleges.
The government also announced the renaming of the Chief Minister’s residence as ‘Lok Sevak Awas’.
Implementation Remains Key Challenge
The government said the first 100 days reflected its focus on faster decision-making and development-oriented governance.
The implementation of these announcements at the ground level will determine the effectiveness of the measures in the coming months.
