Patna: Sandeep Kumar R. Pudkalkatti, a 2006-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, officially assumed charge as the new Transport Secretary of Bihar on Thursday, replacing Sanjay Kumar Agarwal.
The transition was marked by a formal welcome from senior officials and staff of the Transport Department, who presented bouquets to both the incoming and outgoing secretaries. Pudkalkatti was briefed on the department’s ongoing schemes, current status, and future plans. Outgoing secretary Agarwal introduced him to departmental officers and staff, offering insights into key projects under development.
Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, who demitted office on the same day, thanked colleagues for their support during his tenure and expressed his best wishes for the department’s continued progress.
Present at the handover ceremony were Atul Kumar Verma, Administrator of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation; Additional Secretary Praveen Kumar; Joint Secretary Krityanand Ranjan; and other senior officials.
