India and Nepal Discuss New High Dam to Mitigate North Bihar Floods: Sanjay Jha

Patna: Following the Lok Sabha election results, Samrat Choudhary, Bihar BJP President and Deputy Chief Minister, along with Vijay Kumar Sinha, announced that they would contest the 2025 Assembly elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.

Before the Assembly elections, a statement by BJP leader Ashwini Chaubey stirred controversy in Bihar politics. Chaubey expressed his desire for the BJP to lead the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar. JDU has now responded to this statement.

Chaubey stated, “My wish is for the BJP to lead the NDA government in Bihar. BJP should independently come to power with a full majority and lead the NDA forward. This is our intention, and every worker should begin working towards it now. I will wholeheartedly work towards this goal without hesitation.”

He added, “We have been working together with Nitish Kumar, we continue to work together today, and we will move forward together.”

When questioned about the Chief Ministerial candidate, Chaubey remarked, “When elections occur, the party and central leadership will decide. However, ‘imported goods’ in the party are absolutely intolerable to us.”

He also stated, “Even without electoral politics, I will actively serve society as a political worker without aspiring for any position. As a worker, I will continue to fulfill my role actively in Bihar, particularly in Bhagalpur and Buxar. I will remain politically active over the next five years.”
