Security Forces Foil Maoist Attack By Defusing Three IEDs in Gayaji

Gayaji/Patna: Security forces in Bihar have prevented a major attack after discovering and defusing three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by Maoist insurgents near Bhusia Dam, under the jurisdiction of Lutua police station in the Gayaji district.

The explosives, each weighing approximately 10 kilograms, were planted sequentially with the intention to cause maximum harm to security personnel operating in the area. The bomb disposal squad successfully neutralised all three devices amidst loud explosions.

Personnel from D 215 Nagobhar CRPF, C 215 Battalion CRPF Lutua, and local police collaborated on the operation, maintaining heightened vigilance in a region that has long been troubled by Naxalite activity along the Bihar-Jharkhand border.

Imamganj SDPO Amit Kumar confirmed the recovery of the powerful IEDs and noted that operations against Maoists are ongoing. “Our proactive approach has once again ensured that the Maoists’ plan was thwarted before it could be executed,” he said.

Maoist groups have repeatedly targeted security forces in this forested and border region, but continuous intelligence efforts and prompt action by law enforcement have repeatedly prevented large-scale violence.

This latest success underscores the persistent threat posed by insurgent groups in eastern India and the ongoing commitment of security agencies to maintain peace and safeguard civilians.
