Patna: Passengers at Patna’s Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport faced chaos and confusion on Wednesday morning as a major server outage disrupted routine operations. The glitch affected the check-in process, forcing airline staff to manually issue boarding passes and tag baggage, leading to long queues and flight delays.
The disruption comes shortly after the inauguration of the airport’s new terminal, raising questions about the preparedness and infrastructure support for the upgraded facility.
Eyewitnesses and passengers expressed their frustration over the situation. “There is complete mismanagement. Airline staff are manually checking in passengers, and there’s no clear communication about flight timings,” said one traveler waiting in line for over an hour.
Several flights were reported delayed, though official figures on the total number affected were not immediately available. Passengers also noted a lack of updates or coordination from airline or airport authorities.
Airport officials are yet to release a formal statement regarding the cause of the outage or the estimated time for restoration of services.
