Bhagalpur/Patna:The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has issued a tender for organising a range of technology-driven attractions at Ajgaibinath Dham and the Ganga riverfront as part of preparations for Shravani Mela 2026, scheduled to begin on July 30.
Officials said the agency selection process is expected to be completed by July 3, after which the final arrangements for the annual pilgrimage fair will be put in place.
Lighting and visual displays planned
As part of the preparations, Namami Gange Seedhi Ghat and Mandir Seedhi Ghat in Sultanganj will be decorated with motif-based theme lighting.
The installations will depict religious symbols associated with Lord Shiva, including the trishul, damru, Om, kanwar and the Ganga, with the aim of enhancing the appearance of the ghats during the evening.

Laser and water-screen shows on Ganga bank
BSTDC has also planned laser and water-screen shows along the Ganga riverfront.
According to officials, these presentations will use light and water technology to depict the historical significance of Sultanganj, Ajgaibinath Dham, the north-flowing Ganga, the Samudra Manthan narrative, the significance of Lord Shiva, and the kanwar pilgrimage route from Sultanganj to Deoghar.
The programmes are expected to run during the fair period and are aimed at both pilgrims and visitors.
Musical fountain and drone show
A musical fountain will also be installed in the mela area, with water displays synchronised to devotional songs and music. Evening performances are currently being proposed.
The drone show is likely to be one of the central attractions this year. Officials said multiple drones will create aerial formations depicting symbols such as Lord Shiva, trishul, damru, Om, kanwar, Baba Baidyanath Dham, Ajgaibinath temple and devotional messages.
Push for religious tourism
The tourism department said the new additions are intended to strengthen the profile of Shravani Mela at the national level and promote religious tourism in Bihar.
Shravani Mela, centred around the annual kanwar yatra, draws lakhs of devotees every year who collect holy water from the Ganga at Sultanganj and carry it to Deoghar for offering at the Baba Baidyanath temple.
