Bairgania: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rural Mandal President of Bairgania Block in Sitamarhi district, Jaiprakash Nirala, was shot and seriously injured by criminals lying in ambush.
Reports indicate that BJP leader Jaiprakash was returning home in Parsauni from his clothing shop in Bairgania market on Sunday (3rd November) night when several rounds of bullets were fired at him near Bakhri village. A bullet struck his left arm, causing serious injury. The sound of gunfire reverberated throughout the area, instilling panic among the locals.
Upon learning of the shooting, villagers and family members quickly transported him to Dr. Arun Kumar’s clinic in Sitamarhi for treatment. It is reported that the bullet lodged in his arm has been removed, and he is now out of danger. Following the incident, Riga Assembly constituency MLA Motilal Prasad and BJP city division president Pradeep Kumar visited the hospital to meet Jaiprakash Nirala and inquired about his condition.
BJP city unit president Pradeep Kumar alleged that some individuals from his village, Parsauni, conspired to shoot him over a previous dispute.
Bairgania police arrived at the nursing home to check on the BJP leader’s well-being. SDPO Ram Krishna stated that the relatives claim the BJP leader was shot by his former business partner, Laxmi Prasad. However, a written complaint has not yet been filed, and the police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
