Siwan Student Found Dead in Hostel Room, Investigation Underway

Siwan: The body of Sonu Kumar, a 26-year-old civil engineering student, was found under mysterious circumstances in his hostel room in Siwan on Tuesday morning. Sonu, a third-year student and a resident of Chhapra, was staying in a hostel under the Mufassil police station area.

According to reports, Sonu had attended a gathering at a friend’s house on Monday evening, where eight students dined together. After returning to his hostel, he went to sleep in his shared room. The next morning, his roommate tried to wake him but received no response.

A friend of Sonu said, “I thought he was just skipping college, so I left. But when he still hadn’t woken up by 10 am, we returned to the hostel and tried to wake him. His entire body had become stiff. We immediately informed the principal, and the police and forensic team arrived soon after.”

Police officials have launched an investigation into the incident. The cause of death remains unknown and will be determined following a postmortem examination.
