St. Karen’s High School’s “Festival of Books and Reading” Strikes Literary Gold on its Second Day
Patna: The second day of the “Festival of Books and Reading” at St. Karen’s High School (SKHS) on Saturday proved to be a triumphant success, etching a memorable chapter in the literary landscape. The meticulously organized book fair arena welcomed schools from across Patna, including St. Karen’s Secondary School, G D Goenka Public School, Army Public School, East and West High School, Radiant International School, and St. Karen’s Collegiate School.
The collaborative efforts of Team Scholastic and the entire St. Karen’s Family shone through, showcasing exceptional dedication and planning. They created a warm and inviting atmosphere for students, parents, and educators alike, with the day filled with a myriad of engaging activities that underscored the school’s commitment to fostering a love for literature and the arts.
Renowned figures in the literary world graced the event, including quiz master and author Aditya Nath Mubayi, master storytellers and authors Rituparna Ghosh, Simi Srivastava, Lalita Iyer, and Scharada Dubey. Magician Hassan Khan mesmerized the audience with a captivating magic show, while Ajit Narayan, the renowned cartoonist and author, demonstrated and tutored students in the art of cartooning and comic drawings.
A notable highlight of the festival was the book launch of “Padmashree Awardees” by author Anu Chawala, with School Supervisor Sheffali Srivastava and Principal Seema Singh doing the honors. The literary offerings were complemented by the art and craft zone, Origami zone, and puppet show.
Throughout the day, the enthusiasm of students and parents remained high, with the number of visitors swelling as the day progressed. The literary festival not only provided a platform for exploring books but also offered culinary delights with food courts providing a range of delicacies.
Namish Kumar and Vinnie Sharon Noel, the program coordinators, along with all the teachers of SKHS, expressed their thrill about the success of the “Festival of Books and Reading” and are optimistic that the positive response will continue on the final day of the event.
“The second day of the three-day-long ‘Festival of Books and Reading’ at SKHS was a delightful and enriching event for all attendees. It was heartening to witness the community coming together to celebrate literature and the arts,” said SKHS Joint Director Edward Galstaun.
Academic Director Sharon Galstaun, School Supervisor Sheffali Srivastava, and Principal Seema Singh echoed similar sentiments. The cultural programme from St. Karen’s Secondary School and St. Karen’s Collegiate School brought the second day of the event to a memorable close.
