St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology Celebrates 12th Annual Day with Enthusiasm
Patna: The vibrant spirit of celebration filled the air as St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology Patna marked its 12th Annual Day Function on Saturday. The theme for this year’s event was ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam – One Earth, One Family, One Future,’ resonating with the inclusive ethos of the institution.
Honouring the occasion was chief guest Prof. Sharad Kumar Yadav, Vice Chancellor of Aryabhatt Knowledge University (AKU), who underscored the pivotal role of education in fostering societal progress and unlocking individual potential. Dr. Sharad Kumar, the guest of honour and registrar of AKU, encouraged students to embrace experimentation, emphasizing the value of learning from both successes and failures.
The festivities commenced with a warm welcome extended to the guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guest and other distinguished dignitaries. Fr (Dr) Martin Poras SJ, the Principal, elaborated on the college’s mission, vision, and notable achievements through the annual report of the preceding session, emphasizing the institution’s unwavering commitment to excellence.
The cultural extravaganza included captivating performances such as Sufi Qawwali, a short drama highlighting the core values of conscience, compassion, creativity, competence, commitment, and collaboration upheld by the college, as well as a mime depicting the transformative power of education inspired by the life of Malala Yousafzai.
Recognition was accorded to 72 students for their outstanding achievements, spanning academic excellence and extracurricular accomplishments. Nivedita Sharma from the Business Administration department was bestowed with the prestigious ‘Student of the Year Award,’ while Anish Kumar of the Commerce department received the “Fr. Joy Karyampuram Samvedna Award” for demonstrating exceptional compassion and environmental stewardship.
Additionally, three staff members – Abhishek Anand, Ajay Kumar, and Archengela Toppo – were honored with the Perfect Attendance Award for their exemplary dedication.
The grand finale showcased a vibrant fusion of global cultures, from Korean BTS to Indian Garba and African rhythms, culminating in a spectacular display of diversity and unity.
Fr. Joseph Sebastian SJ, the Rector of the College, extended heartfelt gratitude to the organizing committee, dignitaries, and parents, emphasizing their invaluable contribution to imparting holistic education and fostering a strong sense of community within the college.
