Patna: St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna, organised its Orientation Day on 24 July to welcome new students joining its undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The programme was held at Kalam Hall and aimed to introduce freshers to the college’s environment, values, and support systems.
The first session started at 9:30 am with an invocation and lighting of the lamp, followed by a graceful prayer dance. Vice Chancellor Fr. Dr. Martin Poras SJ delivered the Welcome Address, inspiring students as they begin their academic journey. During the session, the Annual Theme for 2025-26 was unveiled, highlighting the college’s focus on innovation, social responsibility, and holistic growth.
Bihar’s Education Minister, Mr. Sunil Kumar, attended the event and encouraged students to pursue their goals with honesty and dedication. Other dignitaries, including Rector Fr. Joseph Sebastian SJ, Finance Officer Fr. Alphonse Crasta SJ, and Registrar Fr. Dr. Sherry George SJ, also shared motivating messages. Parents of some students spoke about their decision to choose Xavier’s for their children’s higher studies. A musical performance by students brought smiles to everyone present.
The second session, starting at 11:55 am, included interactive games, song performances, and an expert talk on soft skills to prepare students for both academic life and future careers. Placement Officer Mr. Piyush Ranjan Sahay gave an overview of placement opportunities, internships, and industry tie-ups. The day ended with refreshments, leaving new students feeling confident and welcomed as they begin their journey at Xavier’s.
