State-Level School Softball and Swimming Trials Held in Patna
Patna: The District Administration of Patna, under the aegis of the Bihar State Sports Authority and the Sports Department, organised state-level open trials for the school softball and swimming competitions at the Patliputra Sports Complex and Moin- Ul- Haq Stadium on Saturday. The trials were aimed at selecting boys and girls in the under-14, under-17, and under-19 categories for both sports.
More than 200 young athletes from 19 districts participated in the softball trials at the Patliputra Sports Complex, showcasing their skills and vying for a spot in the state team. The event was inaugurated by Om Prakash, the District Sports Officer of Patna, who interacted with the players and even played softball with them. The selection process was overseen by a panel of experts, including Vipin Kumar, Pramod Kumar, and Rupak Kumar, the Joint Secretary and Convener.
Simultaneously, the swimming trials were held at Tarn Tal, Chandragupta Jal Vihar, in Moinul Haq Stadium, where 142 athletes from across the state participated. The swimming event, also for under-14, under-17, and under-19 boys and girls, was conducted under the supervision of technical officers Lalmani, Avinash Kumar, Shiv Prakash, and Kundan Kumar.
The selected athletes from both events will represent Bihar in upcoming national-level competitions.
