Patna: Bihar’s Special Task Force (STF) has arrested Mukesh Sharma, a notorious criminal wanted in multiple robbery and extortion cases, during a targeted raid in the Digha police station area of Patna.
According to officials, Sharma had recently threatened Marine Captain Imran Ali, a resident of Digha, demanding Rs 50 lakh and warning of dire consequences if the amount was not paid. The STF launched a manhunt following the threat and apprehended Sharma on Monday.
Authorities confirmed that Sharma has several criminal cases lodged against him in different police stations across Patna district. His arrest is being considered a significant breakthrough in the STF’s ongoing crackdown on organised crime in the region.
