Students Evoke National Pride in Patriotic Song Contest at Patna Women’s College

Patna: Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, hosted a stirring Patriotic Song Competition today, bringing together students and faculty in a celebration of national pride and unity. The event was graced by a distinguished panel of jury members, including Alok John, Dean of National and International Collaborations and Consultancy Services; Dr. Medha, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology; and Mona Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce.

The competition featured 13 groups, each delivering performances infused with fervent patriotism. Songs such as “Jantu Janni,” “Har Kadam Watan Mere,” “Desh Rangeela,” and “Sundar Subhumi” resonated deeply with the audience, evoking tears and a profound sense of nationalism. The participants showcased their patriotic spirit through a variety of creative expressions, from flag tattoos to tricolor wristbands, and diverse outfits to unique earrings.

Alok John commended the students for their dedication and praised the event as a celebration of the 78th Independence Day. “Nothing moves the soul like music,” he said. “The performances today have filled every heart with pride and patriotism.” He congratulated the participants for their melodious renditions, which beautifully captured the essence of the nation’s spirit.

Following John’s remarks, Dr. Amrita Chowdhary, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Geography, addressed the gathering. She congratulated the participants for their impressive performances and announced the results of the competition. The first position was awarded to Code 01 (History), with Code 08 (Sociology) and Code 11 (Geography) sharing the second position. The third place went to Code 13 (Computer Applications) and Code 14 (Mixed).

The event was conducted under the guidance of Cultural Coordinators Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Head of the Department of History; Enakshi Dey Biswas, Coordinator of Performing Arts; and Puja Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce. The competition was moderated by Preeti Singh, General Secretary, and Shreya Bhushan, Joint General Secretary of the Student Council 2024-25. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Kanchan Vinod, Joint Sports Secretary of the Student Council 2024-25.
