Patna: In response to a seasonal surge in passenger traffic during the summer holidays, Indian Railways has announced a series of special trains connecting Bihar with major cities including Delhi and Bengaluru.
Officials said the additional services aim to ease travel demand on heavily congested routes, particularly those linking northern and eastern India.

The New Delhi–Supaul special train will operate daily, passing through key stations such as Hajipur, Barauni and Saharsa before reaching Supaul. The return service will follow a similar route, providing connectivity to several districts in north Bihar.
Anand Vihar–Jogbani Special
A weekly service between Anand Vihar and Jogbani will run every weekend, covering important junctions including Katihar, Purnia and Araria. The train is expected to benefit passengers travelling to the northeastern parts of Bihar.
Saharsa–Yesvantpur Special
The Saharsa–Yesvantpur special will connect Bihar with Bengaluru, traversing major stations such as Kiul, Jhajha, Asansol, Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam. The service is likely to cater to long-distance travellers, including migrant workers and students.
Railway officials said the introduction of these trains is part of a broader strategy to manage peak-season demand and ensure smoother travel during the summer months.
Passengers have been advised to check detailed schedules and plan journeys in advance, as these services will operate with specific date exclusions and limited frequency.
