Patna: The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) has registered a case against Pankaj Kumar, Deputy General Manager (Projects) of Bihar Medical Services and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (BMSICL), for allegedly accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to officials, the case (No. 10/2026) has been filed under sections 13(1)(b), 13(2) and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (amended in 2018). Investigators allege that during his nearly 11 years of service as a public servant in various government posts in Bihar, Pankaj Kumar amassed illegal assets worth Rs 96,46,666 beyond his legitimate income.
Acting on a search warrant issued by the Special Vigilance Court in Patna, SVU teams conducted simultaneous raids on Thursday at his office and residential premises in the Kadamkuan area of the city. The raid at Kanika Mehar Apartment reportedly began around 8 am, when he and his family members were present at the residence.
During the searches, officials recovered cash, jewellery, ornaments and documents related to land and other properties. The vigilance team is currently examining the seized materials and verifying financial records linked to the accused officer.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing and further legal action will be taken after a detailed analysis of the documents and assets recovered during the raid.
