Patna: A second-year student of NIT Patna, identified as Pallavi Reddy from Andhra Pradesh, was found dead in what appears to be a case of suicide. Reddy, who was studying Computer Electronics, was discovered late on Friday night within the NIT campus in the Bihta police station area.

The incident came to light when fellow students found Reddy unresponsive and immediately informed the college principal. The NIT administration subsequently alerted the local police, who arrived at the scene and transported the body to the hospital for a postmortem examination.

Bihta police station in-charge, Raj Kumar Pandey, confirmed that the student died at around 9 pm on Friday but stated that the reasons behind her actions remain unclear. “The matter is under investigation, and it is too early to draw any conclusions,” he said.

Following the incident, tensions rose on campus as students expressed shock and began to protest. Police have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding Reddy’s death.
