Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav has hit back at his younger brother, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, following the latter’s recent remark that “the party is his parents.” In a pointed response shared on X (formerly Twitter), Tej Pratap wrote, “Our respected public is bigger than any party. The party is the system, but the public is the master.”
The RJD leader, who represents Mahua, added that his constituency holds greater importance to him than both the party and his family. “Mahua is my political field. It is more important to me than the party and family,” he stated, underscoring his allegiance to the people rather than party machinery.

Lalu Yadav’s Roadshow in Patna
Meanwhile, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad is set to lead a roadshow in Patna on Monday in support of party candidate Ritlal Yadav, contesting from the Danapur seat. The roadshow is scheduled to start at 3pm from Saguna Mor and continue until Jamaluddin Chak. RJD MP Dr Misa Bharti will also be present during the campaign event.
Tejashwi Questions PM’s Remarks
Earlier, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment about “becoming CM on the strength of guns,” saying, “Whatever one thinks, so is his feeling. We have no comment on this, but listen to the Prime Minister’s language. We have never heard such words from any Prime Minister before.”
Tejashwi, leading the Grand Alliance’s campaign, will address 15 public meetings across Bihar on Monday, including rallies in Patna’s Barh and Mokama.
Priyanka and Akhilesh Join Campaign Trail
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is also slated to hold roadshows in Sonbarsa, Rosera, and Lakhisarai. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav campaigned in Chhapra on Sunday in support of RJD’s Khesari Lal Yadav, criticising the BJP for failing to address unemployment.
“Employment is not on the BJP’s agenda,” Akhilesh said. “This is the reason for migration from Bihar. Why is it not possible to provide a government job to every household?”
Rahul Gandhi Joins Fishermen in Begusarai
In a lighter moment on the campaign trail, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen fishing with locals in Begusarai after addressing a rally there. Accompanied by VIP leader Mukesh Sahni, Kanhaiya Kumar, and Congress candidate Amita Bhushan, Gandhi boarded a boat and joined fishermen in casting nets.
However, the gesture drew criticism from Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who remarked, “Sometimes they criticise India, sometimes they abuse PM Modi’s mother, and sometimes they call Chhath a drama. Such people can only catch fish, nothing else.”
