Patna : Rohini Acharya has accused the NDA of hypocrisy over the controversy surrounding her brother, RJD MLA Tej Pratap Yadav. “Will the security personnel dancing with this man, who calls himself Modi ji’s Hanuman, also be suspended?” she asked, sharing a video of Union Minister Chirag Paswan dancing with security personnel during Holi.

Acharya was reacting to the controversy surrounding her brother, RJD MLA Tej Pratap Yadav, after a video surfaced showing him making a policeman dance during Holi celebrations. The incident prompted swift disciplinary action, with the Patna police department removing the officer from Tej Pratap ‘s security detail.

Selective Outrage?

Taking to social media platform X, Acharya shared a video of Union Minister Chirag Paswan dancing with security personnel during Holi, questioning why no action had been taken in that instance. “If they do it, it’s acceptable, but if others do, it’s condemned,” she wrote, accusing the BJP and its allies of double standards.

The Patna Senior Superintendent of Police, Avkash Kumar, confirmed that the policeman in Tej Pratap’s case had been transferred to the police headquarters, with another constable replacing him.

Political Fallout

The incident has deepened tensions between the RJD and the NDA, with Yadav’s supporters calling the disciplinary action politically motivated. Tej Pratap Yadav himself has expressed displeasure over the controversy, dismissing it as an unnecessary escalation.

  • 🚧 Bihar has approved a new toll policy for state highways that links toll charges to road width. Roads narrower than 5.5 metres and stretches passing through municipal areas will remain toll-free, while wider four-lane and six-lane highways, including the JP Ganga Path and the Kacchi Dargah–Bidupur bridge, will attract higher user charges. The government says the revised system aims to create a sustainable funding model for road maintenance while reducing the burden on commuters using smaller and urban roads.
