Patna: Tejashwi Yadav has expressed deep sorrow over the stampede at the Sheetla temple in Maghra, describing the incident as tragic and avoidable.
In a statement, the leader of the opposition in Bihar said the loss of lives in the incident was heartbreaking and offered prayers for the deceased, while wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
Tejashwi Yadav extended his condolences to the bereaved families, saying he stood in solidarity with them during this difficult time. He termed the incident not only a tragedy but also a reflection of systemic failure.

Calling for immediate action, Tejashwi Yadav urged the state government and district administration to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured and to provide financial assistance to the families of those who died.
He also demanded a high-level investigation into the incident, insisting that those responsible be identified and held accountable. “Negligence in such cases should not be tolerated,” he said.
The opposition leader further stressed the need for concrete steps to prevent similar incidents in the future, emphasising that public safety must be given top priority.
The incident has sparked political reactions in the state, with calls for accountability and improved safety measures at public gatherings growing louder.
