Patna: An unidentified man’s body was found on a roadside near the Sachivalaya police station in Patna on Thursday, triggering a police investigation. Officers from the Sachivalaya police station reached the spot after receiving information from local residents and secured the area.
Sachivalaya DSP Dr. Annu visited the scene, while a forensic science team collected evidence to assist the investigation. Police said the body was found about 500 metres from the police station.
Investigation Underway
The identity of the deceased had not been established at the time of writing. Police said they are examining all possible angles to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
The body has been taken into police custody and will be sent for a post-mortem examination. Officials said the cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report and further investigation.
CCTV Footage Being Examined
Investigators are reviewing footage from CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding area and questioning local residents to reconstruct the sequence of events.
The forensic team continued collecting evidence from the scene as part of the investigation.
Residents Raise Security Concerns
Some local residents said bodies have been recovered from the area on previous occasions, raising concerns about security in the locality. However, police have not linked the latest case to any previous incidents.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and further details will be shared as more evidence becomes available.
