New Delhi: Lok Sabha MP and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the Union Budget 2024-25, stating it will accelerate India’s path to becoming a developed nation.
The budget places special emphasis on the development of eastern states, including Bihar, under the Purvodaya scheme. It promotes human resources, infrastructure, and economic growth. Assistance will be provided for industrial centers in Gaya and several major expressway projects, including the Patna-Purnia and Buxar-Bhagalpur expressways, along with road connectivity projects in Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Vaishali, and Darbhanga. Additionally, an additional two-lane bridge over the Ganga River in Buxar and a 2400 MW solar plant at Pirpainti will be developed. To address flood issues in Bihar, Rs 11,500 crore has been allocated for barrage and irrigation schemes.
The budget also includes plans to develop the Vishnupad Temple in Gaya and the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya, similar to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor, to attract more tourists and devotees. The development of Rajgir and Nalanda aims to promote these cultural heritages on the world stage.
Prasad emphasized that these projects, worth thousands of crores, will transform Bihar and reflect Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to the state’s development. He congratulated the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister for their efforts in creating a budget that addresses the needs of Bihar and the nation.
