Samastipur: Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Bhagirath Choudhary inaugurated the Media Center at Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa in Samastipur on Friday. During the event, he also unveiled the statue of Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur.
Bhagirath Choudhary commended the university’s significant contributions to digital agriculture, stating that the Media Center would further strengthen these efforts. He emphasized the importance of this initiative in disseminating agricultural information effectively. The Minister expressed his honor in unveiling the statue of Karpoori Thakur, a prominent figure in Indian history. He assured the university of necessary support to facilitate further progress and achieve the goals envisioned by the Prime Minister.
University Vice Chancellor Dr P S Pandey announced the establishment of an 89.5 FM channel as part of the Media Center, which will broadcast crucial agricultural information directly to farmers. The center also includes a TV studio equipped for audio-video recording, enabling the university to reach farmers through various platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
Director of Extension Education, Dr Mayank Rai, highlighted the center’s dual role as a laboratory for agricultural journalism students, providing them with valuable hands-on experience in video production and journalism skills.
