Patna: The Bihar Special Task Force (STF) and Patna District Police arrested three alleged drug smugglers in the Fatuha police station area on Monday and recovered 48 grams of heroin, police said.
The seized heroin has an estimated market value of around Rs 10 lakh. Police also recovered a silver bracelet, a silver chain, three mobile phones and a motorcycle from the accused.
Accused Identified
The arrested men have been identified as Chandan Kumar of Rajatpur under Raghopur police station, Akash Kumar of Mallepur and Gautam Kumar of Raghopur, all in Vaishali district.
According to the police, the three were allegedly involved in drug trafficking and had been bringing heroin and codeine from Badarpur in Assam to Bihar for supply in different districts.
Network Under Investigation
The STF said the alleged trafficking network extends beyond Bihar to other states. Investigators are examining the criminal history of the accused and their links with other people involved in the network.
Police are also questioning the arrested men to identify their associates and determine the wider supply chain. The mobile phones seized during the operation are being examined as part of the investigation.
FIR Registered
An FIR has been registered at Fatuha police station, and further investigation is underway. Police said they are working to identify other individuals allegedly connected to the trafficking network.
