Patna: The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) on Thursday raided multiple premises linked to Bihar’s Regional Deputy Director of Education, Virendra Narayan, over allegations of disproportionate assets worth more than Rs 3.75 crore.
Teams led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police carried out simultaneous searches at Narayan’s residences and offices in Patna, Purnia and Muzaffarpur. Narayan, who has also served as a District Education Officer, is accused of acquiring property far beyond his known sources of income.

Officials confirmed that documents, laptops, and other electronic devices were seized during the operation. Vigilance inspectors were seen combing through financial papers, with entry to the raided premises strictly barred.
“Complaints against Narayan had been coming in for some time,” a senior SVU official said, adding that a case was registered before the raids. “The complete valuation of seized property and assets will be made public once the documentation process is finished.”
