Patna: In anticipation of the festive Christmas season, Vijayatej Clarks Inn in Patna is gearing up to host its annual “Cake Mixing Ceremony” on December 25, a cherished tradition that echoes through the years.
During a press conference on Monday, Shankar Jha, the hotel manager, shared details about the event, emphasizing its significance in heralding the joyous onset of Christmas and the winter festivities. Jha recounted how, in times gone by, the ceremony involved an abundance of dried fruits, steeped in wine to preserve their flavors. These concoctions would later find their way into a variety of dishes throughout the week-long celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Continuing in the spirit of tradition, Vijayatej Clarks Inn is set to bring together its managers, staff, and guests for this year’s ceremony, creating a lively atmosphere of shared enthusiasm.
Jha elaborated on the meticulous process of cake mixing, which involves a medley of ingredients, including cherries, dates, prunes, assorted dried fruits, dried figs, glazed cherries, brown sugar, mixed spices, clusters of almonds, and other flavorful components. These ingredients are expertly combined in the cake mix, which is then immersed in a blend of fruit juices.
“Cake mixing is a global tradition, and we were thrilled to host the cake mixing ceremony in Patna as we prepare for the joy-filled festive season,” said Jha.
In addition to the Christmas festivities, Jha announced an extravagant New Year’s event that promises culinary delights for Patna residents. The hotel’s bakery outlet will be offering a 25% discount on any cake order weighing 2 pounds or more, valid from December 24 to January 31. Moreover, a grand gala dinner is planned for New Year’s Eve, featuring a luxurious spread at a minimal cost. Attendees can look forward to not only entertainment but also the opportunity to savor exquisite dishes in a grand celebration of the approaching New Year.
