Patna: The much-anticipated 3-day Annual Techno-Cultural Fest, Virasat 2024, commenced with the College Day celebration organized by Patna Women’s College on Friday. The event, held in the open-air stage hall, began at 9:30 AM and was filled with joy and gaiety.
The festivities started with the hoisting of the college flag, followed by the college anthem. A mesmerizing prayer dance captivated the audience, immersing them in a sense of spiritualism, and was succeeded by a group welcome song. Dr. Sister M Rashmi AC, Principal of Patna Women’s College (PWC), inspired the students with her words, stating, “Patna Women’s College is an epitome of excellence, culture, discipline, and empowerment.”

The highlight of the day was the highly anticipated Miss PWC contest, which featured three rounds. In the first round, contestants showcased representations of different states, followed by a vibrant Punjabi folk dance. The second round tested their writing skills under time constraints, leading to a presentation of a Bihar folk song by the students. The final round included on-the-spot questions from the judges. RJ Shreyansh energized the arena with his lively performance, adding to the festive atmosphere.

In a historic first for PWC, teachers surprised the audience with a Ramp Walk Show promoting Khadi, enhancing the cultural richness of the event. The jury for the Miss PWC contest included Dr. Shailaja Sinha, Head of the Department of Sanskrit at Ram Krishna Dwarika College, RJ Shreyansh from Red FM 93.5, and Dr. Pallawi Ambreesh Kumar, Head of the Department of Business Administration at PWC. The winners were Shreyashvi Raj (winner), Ayesha Singh (1st Runner-Up), and Riya Singh (2nd Runner-Up).

The event, coordinated with great dedication by Enakahi Dey Biswas, Coordinator of Performing Arts, and Puja Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, was a resounding success. It concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mariyum Fatima, Vice-Premier of the Student Council 2024-25.
