Patna: The upcoming Hindi film The Vvaan has brought Chhath Puja and Bihar’s cultural traditions into the spotlight with its devotional song ‘Chhathi Maiya’. The song, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia and Sidharth Malhotra, was released on September 10 and has received attention on social media.
The track is sung and composed by Vishal Mishra, with lyrics by Kaushal Kishore. The video features Tamannaah Bhatia performing Chhath Puja, including scenes depicting prayers and rituals associated with the festival.

What Shweta Tiwari Said About The Song
At The Vvaan trailer launch, actress Shweta Tiwari spoke about the response to ‘Chhathi Maiya’ in Bihar.
Tiwari said she received a call after the song’s release from someone who expressed happiness that Chhath was being shown on the big screen. She said the person described the response in Bihar as enthusiastic and said the song was being widely discussed.
Tiwari also recalled the person saying that there had been a feeling that if Chhath were brought to the big screen, Ektaa R Kapoor would be the filmmaker to do it.
Tamannaah Bhatia On Shooting The Chhath Sequence
Tamannaah Bhatia has also spoken about her experience of filming the song and learning more about Chhath.
At the trailer launch, Bhatia said she had grown up in Mumbai and had seen large gatherings during Chhath celebrations at Juhu Beach, but had not previously understood all the traditions associated with the festival.
She said filming the sequence helped her learn about the festival’s fasting and prayers. She also highlighted the tradition of offering prayers to both the setting and rising Sun, a feature she found particularly meaningful in the context of Bihar’s culture.
The actress said the experience of filming the sequence became emotional for her and that the song would remain associated with Chhath celebrations for her.
