Begusarai: A shocking case has come to light from Begusarai in Bihar, where a young woman has accused her lover of forcing her to eat beef and convert to Islam. The woman, Aarti, is from Indore in Madhya Pradesh. She met Mohammad Shahbaz from Begusarai on Facebook in 2018 and fell in love with him. Later, Shahbaz called her to Begusarai to meet him.
According to Aarti, when she reached Begusarai, Shahbaz hid his real identity and married her at Karpoori Sthan temple. After marriage, they started living together, but soon Shahbaz began torturing her. He forced her to change her name to Aarushi Parveen and pressured her to convert to Islam. Aarti said Shahbaz also made her delete photos of Hindu gods and goddesses from her phone.
She worked in a jewellery shop as a labourer and gave him about Rs 1 lakh from her earnings. Despite this, Shahbaz continued to torture her. Things became worse when he started talking to another girl, which Aarti could not tolerate anymore. Finally, she decided to approach the police for help.
After receiving her complaint, the police took quick action and kept her safe in a girls’ home. Police officials said they are in touch with Aarti’s family and will provide her with all possible help under the law. The incident has created anger and shock among people in the area.
