Patna: A woman constable died and two other police personnel were seriously injured after a car rammed into them during a routine vehicle checking operation in Patna on the night of June 11.
The incident occurred on Atal Path under the SK Puri police station jurisdiction when police officers were inspecting vehicles as part of a late-night operation. According to eyewitnesses, a car being stopped for checks was struck by another speeding vehicle, which ran over the officers stationed nearby.
Constable Komal, Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar and Assistant Sub-Inspector Awadhesh Kumar were immediately taken to a nearby private hospital. Komal was declared dead on arrival, while the other two remain in serious condition.
Patna Police confirmed that three people have been arrested in connection with the incident, including the driver and the owner of the car. Senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar, who visited the scene shortly after the crash, stated that a case of murder will be registered against those involved.
