Patna: A two-day Women Mega Job Fair has begun in Patna with the aim of promoting economic and social empowerment for women in Bihar. The event is being held on March 16th and 17th at the Gyan Bhavan convention centre.
The initiative is being organised by the Women and Child Development Corporation Bihar in collaboration with the state’s social welfare department under the government’s women empowerment initiatives.
Officials say the fair will bring together more than 50 national and multinational companies and offer over 2,000 employment opportunities across several industries.
Push for women’s economic empowerment
According to managing director Vandana Preyasi, the programme is part of the state government’s broader effort to strengthen women’s economic independence and provide better employment opportunities for skilled candidates.
The job fair is also being conducted with technical support from the Bihar Skill Development Mission.
Jobs across multiple sectors
The participating companies will offer roles in sectors including retail, hospitality, healthcare, IT and BPO, textiles, manufacturing and security services.
Selected candidates will undergo on-the-spot interviews during the event, and many may receive appointment letters immediately after the selection process.
